| Tiivistelmä: | Turning to a consultant for special problems or organizational analysis has become second nature for American businesses. Unfortunately, the client-consultant relationship is often poorly defined, and ethical considerations are deliberately or accidentally ignored. Abuses occur in , all types of organizations and in all industrialized countries, so it cannot be said to be an American cultural phenomenon, or simply in the nature of business dealings. Good and bad reasons for using a consultant are considered. To avoid consultant malpractice, some mutually understood and accepted ground rules, perhaps included into a "Consulting Code of Conduct", are suggested. Special recommendations for management are offered. |
