Tiivistelmä:It is stated that holidays are taken for pleasure. It is questioned how well we actually do feel during our holiday. This question is explored in a study of more than 480 international tourists in the Netherlands. The respondents answered questions about their mood of the day and about their satisfaction with life in general. It is found that average mood appears to be high. Mood was somewhat lower among people who were in the first 'travel phase' of about 10 percent of the holiday duration (here as: h-d). Mood was highest during the 'core phase' covering about 70 percent of the h-d. Mood then declines slightly, but increases during the last part of the holiday.
