| Tiivistelmä: | This article discusses the trade unions in Europe and the European integration project. It is said that the negative referendum in France and the Netherlands on a treaty to establish a constitution for Europe in 2005 raises the questions whether the union members support the European Union (EU) integration. It is stated that it is unclear whether the benefits of an enlarged market be realized without a decline in Western European labor standards. |
