| Tiivistelmä: | The lean concept is much easier to preach than to carry out. Many components of the lean production concept such as "teamwork", "KAIZEN" or "continuous material flow" have been tested, implemented and sometimes even successfully put into practice. However, only very few companies succeeded in re-integrating office work in this "slimming process". Many firms failed in applying the lean management concept to the office or administrative area. The reasons for this failure are highlighed and the obstacles in the way of developing a lean office philosophy due to the complexity of the subject are analyzed. |
