| Tiivistelmä: | In this article the author examines the privately-owned infrastructure company, Railtrack and its part in the privatised railway system in the UK between 1996 and 2001. The paper discusses the brief and unsuccessful career of the company and the decision of the Britisth government to discontinue public support for Railtrack and the initial replacement of Railtrack; Network Rail set by the British Government. The author analyses the public debate of these events as well as the prospects of the replacing company Network Rail. |
