| Tiivistelmä: | In recent years an increasing number of manufacturing firms have installed Material Requirements Planning /MRP/ systems to plan and control inventories, determine resource requirements, and schedule orders. Discussed is the scheduling of manufacturing orders. Scheduling is concerned with both the initial establishment and the day-to-day maintenance of the relative priorities of open manufacturing orders as they compete for the limited productive capacity of the shop. Examined are two approaches used for maintaining order priorities. |
