| Tiivistelmä: | The middle and small cities of China have rational size. They have good management qualification and have not been separated from agriculture and handicrafts. They are located in areas near countryside and thus have natural connections with agriculture and collective enterprises. It is easy for them to explore and make use of the countryside resources. The organizations of middle and small cities are relatively small and their functions in economic management are more effective. But middle and small enterprises take dominant position in middle and small cities. It is difficult for them to withstand violent compe- tition. The culture, science, technology and education of middle and small cities are underdeveloped. The thought of small peasant economy is relatively strong and hinders the middle and small enterprises to become large and modern ones |
