| Tiivistelmä: | Changchun is a key hub of communication and goods- distributing center in the northeast of China, known as the "motor city" and "movie city", "sci-tech annd cultural city" and the "forest city". It covers a total area of 18,881 square kilometers, 1,116 of which makes up the city proper, with a population of 6.575 million, 2,230,000 of whom live in the city proper. By the end of 1994, foreign-funded enterprises approved had totalled 786, with a total investment of USD 1.38 billion, 5.92 of which has been put actually into use. 50 tracts of land had been transferred, the total size being over 700,000 square metres. |
