| Tiivistelmä: | This paper presents a definition of corporate governance and sheds light to the challenges in adapting the concept of governance to privately-held companies by exploring wide array of issues related to corporate governance in privately-held firms. When considering these firms, there is a need to widen the traditional perspective of governance to an integrated one including theoretical perspectives from both economics and social science disciplines. Here the authors provide an integrated, schematic model of corporate governance which serves as a guide to highlighting gaps in the current research base. |
