Tiivistelmä:There is an expanding job market needing system analyst skills that is much in contrast to the traditional markets for these skills. Today's trends in computer downsizing and outsourcing, coupled with PC revolution, have displaced experienced information system professionals as never before in the brief history of computing. System analysts displaced by these changes may seek non-traditional areas for career change. One of these areas is that of the small healthcare institution. An analysis of the success requirements for an MIS professional in a small healthcare institution is presented. To this end, observations from field studies of small hospitals that employ mid-range computer systems are included.
