| Tiivistelmä: | The company meeting programme of the Society of Investment Analysts provides a forum where senior company officials make presentation to financial analysts. This paper present presents the results of a study of the information content of 131 meetings held during the period from January 1985 until May 1990. If such meetings can be shown to generate share price sensitive information, this raises questions about the fairness and legality of disseminating information in this manner. The evidence is of a statistically significant increase in share price volatility on the day following the meeting. |
