| Tiivistelmä: | To study communication is now also to make arguments about the economic logic and cultural forms of social development in general. For a variety of reasons, the study of communication as a social force has converged, directly and at many points, on an encompassing critique of contemporary capitalism. The analysis of communication as a social force foregrounds the production and distribution of informational and cultural resources and it is in the forefront of efforts both to track the political-economic significance of communication and information and to chart processes of ideological construction. |
