| Tiivistelmä: | The start of the 1980s was marked by attempts to introduce corporate management techniques such as management accounting and some related techniques of management control into the management of public enterprises. A special field of these efforts has become hospital management. It is shown that the reforms had only a limited impact on the control systems, mainly because of technical and sociological problems. Some actions and their results in the area of resource allocation, particularly in the introduction of global annual budgets, as well as in the development of organizational structure and information systems. The implications of this evolution on the operation of the hospital system are examined. |
