| Tiivistelmä: | The reengineering process of the Hannover based Papierfabriken Alfeld-Gronau AG is described. The traditional way of manufacturing was found to hinder the development of the firm, so a radical restructuring of the planning system and the organization of the production was found necessary. The essence of the new planning and production philosophy is computer base reengineering. In realizing it, the systems of planning, logistics and production were completely transformed. The authors present in the article the processes of choosing the proper software tools, the integration of the information systems of the company into a company-wide network, and the reorganization of the structure of the company to meet the requirements associated with the new technology. |
