| Tiivistelmä: | This article provides insight into futures studies in Africa and explores their purpose and role. The article recommends that futures studies, as a relatively new field in Africa, must at this early stage be a cooperative and participatory effort between the various stake holders. It also discusses the need to utilize futures studies as a strategic long-term tool that could be used in the constructive development of Africa. Moreover, the article recommends that Africans need to take a leading role in the dialogue and debate over the long-term future of Africa. |
