| Tiivistelmä: | On 2 May 1992, the Swiss government signed the European Economic Area (EEA) Agreement in Oporto, Portugal. The European Community thereby extended its internal market to the European Free Trade Association States creating a market of three hundred and eighty million consumers with free movement of goods, services, capital and persons as well as close co-operation in flanking policies. In August and September, the Swiss Parliament accepted the EEA Agreement. |
