Tiivistelmä: | E. Deming and his views on management, especially American management, to say the least, are controversial. Deming's comments about work standards have to be understood in the light of his criticism of American management. The real issue is not standards, but managerial style. Deming is pushing for a bottom-up management style with trained, competent , caring workers who manage a process with help from professionals. The old approach, the traditional Taylor method, is that managers think while workers do: a style of management that is hopefully on the way out. |
