| Tiivistelmä: | This paper postulates that export/foreign production orientation is a good proxy for the internationalisation process of a firm. Survey results validate this postulate. Results further show that there are differences between the export-oriented companies and the foreign production oriented companies with regard to their foreign market entry strategy. Empirical findings provide support for a firm's incremental internationalisation process. The study is based on a survey of 228 vice presidents/ directors in charge of international operations at US manufacturers. |
