| Tiivistelmä: | Rhetoric is the master-word for this reply to a reply and the author's main point is simply that like it or not we live in a rhetorical world. This is a conclusion that is inevitable once we remove literal meaning as a restraint on what we say because this first-step down the interpretive path contains all the others. This is not to say the author puts forth his reply without restraint but merely to signal that the restraints that are in place are not fixed but flexible, subject always to alteration through persuasive appeals. |
