Tiivistelmä: | Much of many and effort spent today on research and development at the corporate level is wasted, the authors contend. Corporate research and development (CRD) centers are necessary only if a company is following a technology leadership strategy and is diversified, and if technology synergies can be captured across business units. This article also discusses the key role of the chief technology officer, who may act as spokesperson and orchestrator of the technical strategy, whether or not the company has a CRD program. |
