| Tiivistelmä: | Two important considerations in flow intensive facilities layout design are the relative placement of cells and the configuration of the intercell material flow paths. There have been a number of approaches which attempted to minimize flow travel distances along flow path configurations assuming the layout to be given and fixed. In this paper, the concept of a single loop flow path configuration is further explored and is analysed from the perspective of its optimization where the layout of cells is not fixed. |
