| Tiivistelmä: | In manufacturing and service industries jobs are sometimes assigned to machines or workers (processors) that do not have equal capabilities and capacities. The objectives of assigning work include minimizing the mean flow time through the system, ensuring that as many as possible tasks are completed on time, and spreading the work load equally. This research identifies system variables affecting the performance of schedules for parallel, non-identical processors in terms of mean flow time, proportion of jobs tardy, and processor utilization spread. |
