Tiivistelmä: | this paper focuses on issues in the design and implementation of in-work benefits. In common with the others in this Policy Forum, it draws on the experience of the United Kingdom and the United States. In addition to these two countries, Ireland has a benefit similar to the United Kingdom called family income supplement. In 1993, as part of a general reform of child support, a modest C$500 income tax credit against earnings was introduced in Canada for families with children. Other OECD Member countries have more general systems of tax credits or deductions for work-related expenses, which can have similar effects in practice. |
