| Tiivistelmä: | The year 2000 problem, the problem of compliance of information systems with the transition to the year 2000 is discussed.Background and characteristics of the problem are presented, a brief assesement of how information systems will be affected by the year 2000 problem is given, and possibilites for the solution are overviewed. Tools that support programmers in solving the year 2000 problem are briefly described.An empirical investigation in companies in Slovenia, the aim of which was to collect an anaylze data about the extent of the year 2000 problem and awareness of Slovenian IS professionals about the problem, is presented. |
