| Tiivistelmä: | Since 1995, Xiamen city has maintained a rapid and stable economic growth while at the same time its prices fall gradually. Its GDP from Jan. to Sept. this year reached 16.1 billion yuan, up 23.1% over the same period of last year. Among it, the primary industry, secondary industry and tertiary industry grew by 3.3%, 29.6% and 18.3% respectively. It is estimated that Xiamen's industries output value will reach 40 billion yuan, up 25%, the agricultural output value up 3.2%, the output value of township enterprises up 31.2% in 1996. The volume of the whole city's utilized foreign investment will be USD 1 billion, down 16.7% over last year. The city's economic grow rate will still stand at 20% or so. |
