| Tiivistelmä: | The telecommunications industry worldwide is undergoing deep-seated change and rapid growth. The uncertainty that this generates is complicated in China by an official resistance to inward foreign direct investment (FDI) in telecommunications services, despite the pressing need for foreign capital, technology, and management expertise. The massive scale of the Chinese market means that foreign firms cannot ignore it. FDI, the conventional market entry mode for a market of this importance, cannot currently be used to enter the service sector. |
