Tiivistelmä: | A great deal has been written about the attractiveness of investing in Central Eastern Europe (CEE) following the change of regimes in 1989 and the subsequent economic and political transformations. According to the Economist Intelligence Unit, $24.78 billion in foreign capital was invested in the four CEE countries of Hungary, Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia between 1990 and 1995. This figure pales in comparison with other regions: an estimated $698 billion have been poured into the former GDR in revenue transfers alone by the German state since 1990. |
