| Tiivistelmä: | In 1996, Xiamen's agricultural economy developed steadily and its industrial production had a sustained growth. The investment in fixed assets kept a rapid growth and the construction of key projects proceeded smoothly. The export of foreign trade rose slightly. Buying and selling on consumer goods market were both brisk. Prices were stable. The income of urban and rural residents continued to increase. The main targets of Xiamen's economic work in 1997 are as follows: Its GDP will reach 37 billion yuan with an economic growth rate of 21%. The local budgetary revenue will rise by 14.05%. The investment in fixed assets will stand at 18.5 billion yuan. The export volume of foreign trade and the total volume of consumer goods will reach US$ 3 billion and 13.5 billion yuan, up 7.4% and 26.2% respective, etc.. |
