| Tiivistelmä: | This paper investigates the concentration in the German insurance market between 1991 and 1994. It considers the concentration in the single years and the development of concentration over time. The concentration is computed not only for the whole market but for the different insurance lines, such as life, non-life and health. Moreover the oligopolistic structure is explored by means of dominance measures. We find that the insurance market is stable during the last years. Furthermore, there is no evidence of a monopoly ( 22 Abs. 3 Satz 1 GWB) or an oligopoly ( 22 Abs. 3 Satz 2 GWB). |
