| Tiivistelmä: | 1996 was the year when Shanghai's textile industry made a thorough adjustment. With efforts, the situation of the whole industry's suffering heavy losses from Jan. to July was controlled at last. A profit volume of 10 million yuan for the whole year was realised and the value of state- owned assets increased by 1.92%. In 1997, its economic work is 1.to reduce the capacity of primary processing, loss- making enterprises and surplus labour force, 2. to support and expand enterprises with superiority, increase brand- name products and enlarge big groups, 3. to strengthen marketing, increase economic returns and cultivate new economic growth points, such as "the enterprises in three forms of ventures", real estate and trade, 4. to turn the situation that large-sized enterprises and the main business they do have made losses. |
