| Tiivistelmä: | This article considers in a systematic and comprehensive way the relationship between various public finance instruments and the growth of countries' economies. It surveys a large body of literature in an attempt to reach conclusions as to the way in which taxes , public spending, and budgetary policy can influence growth by affecting the allocation of resources, the stability of the economy, and the distribution of income. When interpreted from the perspective of the new endogenous growth theory, fiscal policy could play a fundamental role in affecting the long-run growth performance of countries. |
