Tiivistelmä:Both psychology and economics have been shaped by two competing programs. One program has postulated the existence of norms and optimal reasoning, and that humans actually conform to these norms. In both disciplines this program has been challenged by a competing one that, while maintaining the same traditional norms of sound reasoning, has argued that human beings fail miserably at both. The authors first discuss traditional programs of thinking about reasoning in psychology and their problems. Next they identify a set of parallel programs and problems in economics.
