| Tiivistelmä: | During a long period of time, the exchange rate of Hong Kong dollar against US dollar has been stable and Hong Kong dollar against other currencies has devalued with the value of US dollar weakening. It helps enhance the competition ability of Hong Kong's products in the world market. Other- wise, Hong Kong is unable to adjust fund supply and demand of its own accord and implement the independent monetary policy. In the long-term, Hong Kong dollar peg system has its unique real economic base. Under the circumstance that the status of US dollar has been established, the method of keeping on US dollar and stabilizing exchange rate has real economic value. Viewed from technical operation, such a system has stronger operability for it pools the advantages of several major exchange rate systems. |
