| Tiivistelmä: | The environment and conditions for economic development in 1999 will be better that those in 1998. It is estimated that the investment of the whole society and consumption will rise by 20% or so and reach over 12% respectively. The target of economic growth is set at 7%, the bottom line of regulation and control. The price level will not surpass 5% absolutely and continue to operate at a low level. Starting from the second quarter, the situation of seriously inadequate total demand will change obviously. RMB will not be devalued continuously. But the employment situation will be severe. In cities and towns, new job opportunities should be created for the additional 4.6 million people in 1999, up 23.78% over 1998. |
