| Tiivistelmä: | In this paper the conceptual basis and the application potential of a software tool which has been applied for flexibility planning in the supply chain of a German biotechnology firm is presented. At first, the relevant terms, i.e. supply chain, flexibility in supply chains and flexibility planning in supply chains, are defined and characterized with regard to the practical example. Thereupon, a stochastic dynamic model for the evaluation of flexibility strategies in supply chains is developed. This model is implemented in a computer based application to support flexibility planning in supply chains. The application's potential is demonstrated on the basis of the practical example (original in German). |
