Tiivistelmä: | This paper builds on article authors' previous work having applied Amartya Sen and Martha Nussbaum's Aristotelian grounded theory of capabilities (here as:cap.)to the workplace to propose a new way of conceptualising workplace equality. Cap. theory calls for equal freedoms to achieve and to function. From a cap. perspective, examination of equality action in communities can only be meaningfully done through the use of a richer information base than often is employed. One implication that can be drawn from these views is that a review and revision of how workplace inequality is formally evaluated and thus measured, is necessary: this is what we begin to explore in this article. |
