Tiivistelmä:As an 2003 extension for the previous 1997 investigation, this study deals with how students perceive hospitality organizations as prospective employers. Through structural equation modeling, there are five factors used to examine the relationship btw. the factors and the likelihood (as: l-hood) of employment in 8 industry segments (here as: ind-sgmts). The greatest difference btw. the 1997 and 2003 findings is the rise of the Internet in guiding students' attitudes toward various ind-sgmts. With regard to quick-service restaurants (QSRs) and private clubs, company-sponsored events particularly improve the l-hood of accepting employment in those ind-sgmts. However, word of mouth and experience as a customer can decrease interest in working in economy hotels and QSRs. Ironically, a personal recruiting visit seems to have less influence than expected on employment decisions.
