| Tiivistelmä: | This paper examines implementation of ISO14001 and publication of environmental reports and their influence on the facilitiesÂ’ environmental performance. Authors used Japanese facility-level data from OECD survey as a basis for their estimates. The study focuses on resource use, solid waste generation and wastewater effluent. ISO14001 and report publication both assist reduce all three impact areas. The estimation of effects indicates clearly that local governments can offer assistance programs that promote voluntary adoption of ISO14001. The results also evidence that environmental regulations do not decrease the effect of ISO 14001. |
