| Tiivistelmä: | In this study the authors analyze the status of European publishing in high-impact Information System (IS) journals. The paper identifies seven reasons why the European publication record is unsatisfying. The authors highlight weak publishing cultures and reviewing practices can explain the current situation. Also scholars and Ph.D.s get inadequate preparation for article publishing and the article genre in general lacks appreciation. The authors offer several proposals for improvement in individual, institutional and European community level. |
