| Tiivistelmä: | The idea of this paper is to discuss the relation between opinions towards economic reform in 1990 and voting behavior in the first five national elections in the Czech Republic. Data from a survey is used to test whether the sympathizers or abolitionists of economic reform influenced voting behavior. Election results and economic indicators at the regional level show that there were regional variation in voting patterns and political constraints bind during transition. |
