| Tiivistelmä: | By incorporating insights from the literature on men and masculinities, this paper contributes to research on leadership (hereafter as: l-ship). Empirically, the paper bases on the narratives of three Danish male leaders dealing with tensions in discourses of l-ship. From the gender perspective it is found that an understanding of nascent intertwined discourses of charisma (masculinities, here as: m-s.) and participation (femininities, as: f-s.) was implicitly constructed in the interviews, giving rise to what could be labeled as a transformational (as: trs-al.) l-ship. discourse, whereby m-s. in l-ship. while remaining, are blurred. In general, a research implication is that while trs-al. l-ship. is introduced as being based on feminine and participative values, it should not be forgotten that male elements of l-ship. are still inherent in the concept, and generally in l-ship. of the 2000s etc. |
