| Tiivistelmä: | Assuming that the general confidence variable is of critical importance for the effectiveness of performance appraisal systems,a multi-item measure is developed of the general confidence attitude and identified correlates of this attitude in the light of the prior literature in order to facilitate the successful introduction and use of appraisal systems in a research and development context. A cross-organizational survey of 222 West German research and development executives is analyzed by a Landy-type model. |
