| Tiivistelmä: | The genesis of the new managerialism in U.S. businesses and factories in the 19th century is examined, and the published histories of the U.S.armories and railroads are re-examined. The main concern is to re-analyse apparently economic-rational changes in accounting and accountability in a wider frame which explains their development as aspects a general shift in power- knowledge relations.Further examinations are proposed to establish precise process of historical change. |
