Tiivistelmä:Additional services for industrial products can provide new competitive advantages. The role of market analysis in gathering information about service requirements is emphasized. The need of an extended market philosophy is shown. The corporate planning process is reviewed to find opportunities for the systematic development of services. The preconditions of creative realization of new ideas are dealt with. A number of management problems are mentioned which have to be solved to make full use of the planned improvements. Examples are drawn from the practice. The most important additional benefits for the customers are listed.
