| Tiivistelmä: | In today's ever-changing and often threatening political environments, traditional portfolio planning models may be incomplete and even unrealistic. A new, more comprehensive model is offered for determining market strategies. Political risk concepts are introduced. Political risk is defined. Management actions can increase or decrease the probability of political risk. The ways of a political risk assessment are highlighted. A portfolio/political risk matrix is developed as an aid of analysis. Five strategies are examined in detail on the base of political risk considerations. Several managerial implications are summarized. The benefits of a proactive management are demonstrated. |
