Tiivistelmä: | A number of problems arise when dealing with planning: time is limited and the problems are complex. Planning is hard work and some managers simplify it. The certainty of present problems simply "forces out" the uncertainties and contingencies that may occur in the long run. Severe critics cited from literature on formal strategic planning, "planocrats" and the situation when planning becomes the end in itself. Plans are ineffective when there is too much distance between the planners and doers. The new development which is called entrepreneuring is examined. Some practical guidelines help to avoid overcomplicating the planning processes. The role of flexibility and that of the mobilizing human resources for planning is stressed. |
