| Tiivistelmä: | Relatively reliable numerical data of systematic external effects can be obtained by using mathematical optimization models that combine the cost and market situation with technical and physical characteristics of production facilities, considering a rational behavior of privately operating users of technology. Corporate behavior concerning expenditure in capital goods is "simulated" by maximizing the objective variable. Therefore, restrictions of deployment - either due to legislation or to autonomous corporate goal setting - are acknowledged in a mixed-integer model of capital budgeting. |
