| Tiivistelmä: | The Hilti Group has been making its way towards the "factory of the future" for years. The most important elements of a computer integrated manufacturing system are examined. Historical predecessors of CIM systems are briefly reviewed (CAD, NC/CNC technique etc.). The engineering tasks of integrating the various functions of a company are highlighted. The interrelationships of the components of a global approach are explained. The critical success factors are identified and analyzed. The basic concepts are discussed. The key problems threatening a long-term successful realization are investigated. |
