| Tiivistelmä: | Transport investment decision-making at government level has acquired special importance in recent years because of rising costs and greater involvement of government in transport system, especially in developing economies. A multiobejctive optimization model for intermodal transport investment at the national level is presented and tested for the Indian transport sector. The novelty of the modelling effort is the combination of a number of single objective linear programming models to form a multiobjective goal programming model where the optimal values of the linear programming formulations are used as the initial target values for the achievement of global optimal results. The results indicate that railways should get the maximum share. |
