| Tiivistelmä: | The group of dynamic memory components known as DRAMs (dynamic random access memories) is best suited to illustrate the nature and manifestation of the decline in prices of microelectronic components. In the case study, which is supported by empirically determined values, the influences on the decline in prices resulting from experience, increases in quantity, improved technology, increases in productivity, changes in the economic climate and dumping are weighed against each other in rough quantitative estimates. The previously inconsistent picture of the various possible reasons for the observed decline in prices is thereby structured and evaluated. |
